“Hey Ari, can you get the spare plates from the closet over there?” Endymion asks from the stove, pointing it out. They nod, heading into the corridor as Endymion sends a text to Rin.
‘All clear, your turn.’
In the living room, Rin, after seeing the text, turns to Phyrrhus, making sure Pandora can’t hear them. “Hey can you come help me wrap some gifts?”
Phyrrhus nods, getting up and following Rin down the hallway. The door to the closet had been propped open with a chair, Ari not wanting to accidentally become trapped inside. As soon as they walk past, Rin pushes Phyrrhus in, removing the chair and locking it from the outside.
There's a second of shock before Ari bangs on the door.
“Let us out of here or I swear to god…”
“It’s stuck!” Rin says from the other side, not remotely trying to help. Instead, he props the chair under the door handle making it even harder to open and goes to join Endymion in the kitchen, deaf to the complaining coming from the closet.
Phyrrhus has his phone out, frantically messaging Endymion, who had conveniently left his phone in the other room. Realizing that this must have been the elusive ‘Plan B, Phyrrhus puts his phone on one of the shelves, trying very hard to not meet Ari’s eye.
The closet was small, meaning the two barely had space to stand without leaning on each other. Towels, sheets and other household items crowded the shelves, the only light coming into the room little coming in from the bottom of the door and the still lit screen on Phyrrhus’ phone.
“I didn’t think they would actually do it…” Phyrrhus whispers to himself, feeling himself go red as he realizes how close the two actually are.
“Actually do what?” Ari asks, somehow finding a way to fold their arms in the small space.
“Rin made a joke, about ‘shoving us into a closet until we realized we confessed our feelings..” Phyrrhus sighs, leaning back on one of the shelves. “Turns out he wasn’t joking.”
“Of course.” Ari sounds bemused.. “How did that even come up?”
“I told them I had a crush on you weeks ago… and now I
Phyrrhus nods as Ari feels in her pocket for something. The two make eye contact and Phyrrhus turns even furthur red and slight blush coming to Ari’s cheeks as well.
“If it’s a show they’re looking for, it’s a show we’ll give them.” Ari smirk is visible in the low light as they give Phyrrhus a quick peck on the cheek, the newly applied lipstick leaving the lightest of a mark. They then hover over his collarbone.
“May I?” They ask, mischief evident in their smile. Phyrrhus nods, somehow going even more red. Ari leaves a bright red lipstick mark right above where his shirt starts, leaving it visible to anyone who looks.
“There. Hopefully that’ll stop them from pushing us into any other confined spaces.” Ari giggles, Phyrrhus’ face frozen somewhere between suprised and impressed.
“I… they’re going to have so many questions...” Phyrrhus says, before yelling out. “I did it! You can let me outta here!”
“Do that again and that closet won’t have a door, do you understand me?” Ari whispers, heading into the kitchen with a shake of their hair. Endymion doesn’t respond, his eye instead drawn to the lipstick bright against Phyrrhus’ skin.
“I don’t even know how to explain it.” He says before Endymion can open his mouth. “Next time warn me or something?”
“That would defeat the point.” Endymion says, smiling.
The two head into the kitchen, Ari rolling out dough with Pandora and Rin trying to steal the frosting already prepared. Endymion goes to join the chaos as Phyrrhus stand back for a moment, taking it all in. Found family, all in a room. More than he could never ask for.
